I am an advocate because I believe young people should not just be affected by decisions—they should have a voice in making them. My experiences in student government and the PLAN USA Youth Advisory Board have shown me that speaking up, when paired with preparation and action, can turn a concern into something that reaches the people who have the power to create change.
